Hello everyone!
I meant to post this a lot sooner but got delayed due to personal issues on my end. Some of you may have already noticed this but there has been a few changes on the wiki.
For a while now, I've been focusing on creating a better set of rules for this wiki because the way they are right now was just spread out across too many different tabs. There was also no consistent layout guidelines other than to look at other pages.
For the most part things will not have changed, the admins have come to a decision about a few things that I will list here.
The main thing is that we wanted to change the Template:CD Infobox over to the name Release Infobox instead since it encompasses a lot more than just a CD nowadays.
The other thing is about page naming conventions. For a while now, it's pretty much just been whatever works but we want more consistency and also to make it easier for it to be clear what the page you're looking for:
If there is another page with the same title, you’ll want to add something to the name so that you can create a page.
For a person page, if they are part of a group you'll want to add the name and parenthesis after it specifying the group that they are in. (i.e. AYA (QUEENS)). This is so that it's easier to identify the page you are visiting without having to visit multiple pages. This does however mean that if someone changes groups or stage names that all categories associated with a person will also need to be renamed.
For release pages, add the name of the artist after the name in parenthesis. (i.e. Again (YUI)). For self-titled releases, add the type of release after the name in parenthesis. (i.e. ≠ME (Digital Single)). This can also be used for different releases with the same name by the same artist.
Another thing to note is that this page titling thing will take a long time to fully implement but we thought it would be clearer and more useful in the long run. For Release Infobox, you can use that right away as the bot has already gone through and fixed all of it.
You can read the new guidelines in full detail by following the links below:
If anyone has any additional questions about these rules or if something doesn't make the most sense, please let me know and I can try to explain better.
